Spin Art in Motion- Part Two

As Early Childhood Educators we should embrace unexpected and unplanned events in our day. These unintentional or accidental discoveries are so important for the children’s growth and development.

A few weeks back, I found a big roll of white ribbon, about one inch thick. The children decided to cut a few pieces and turn them into streamers, so they could swirl around, while they danced. Well, one flew way up high and landed straight in the salad spinner. The classroom went silent few a few seconds, until a child suggested that we leave it in and SPIN IT!

Oh my gosh…that was surely an unplanned opportunity to try something new.

The discovery was nothing but AMAZING!

  3. This is fantastic, i love color, experience and children (& inspired adults around them). I'm a frequently follower of your blog, it's soooooo inspiring. I live in the Netherlands, were most of the children playgroups are full of rules, about the things the goverment thinks the children must learn, there is nearly any time to let the children experience and learn things in there own time. Keep on going!!!!!!!
    Lots of love
